It is time to start thinking about the
warm weather...and summer camp at Camp Easter Seals. Camp Easter Seals,
established in 1957, is located in Craig County, Virginia. For fifty years,
Easter Seals Virginia has provided quality recreational and therapeutic camp
programming. We believe that all children and adults with disabilities should
have the opportunity to participate in traditional camp activities. Our
accessible camp facility can accommodate campers with a wide range of special
needs Over 400 individuals enjoy the programs and services of Camp Easter Seals
each year.
Our General Sessions include kids/teens, young adults and adults. Camp Easter
Seals also offers four Therapy Camps. Campers who attend these sessions receive
therapy while also participating in the everyday camp activities. All therapies
are provided by licensed Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists. Families
can come and enjoy Camp Easter Seals during Family Camp Unlimited week. Family
Camp Unlimited offers families with a person with a disability the opportunity
to have a great family camping experience and meet other families. Our
cooperative Super Summer Camp is for youth with visual impairments and is
sponsored by the Virginia Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
Did you know that you don't have to wait all the way to summer to experience
Camp Easter Seals? Our Weekend Respites give campers a chance to come to camp
in the Spring, meet new friends and participate in fun and exciting activities.
Weekend Respite themes this Spring are Adventure, Family and Teens. Weekend
Respites also provide caregivers with the opportunity to enjoy a break for
themselves while their child is cared for in a safe, supported environment.

Inclusive Schools
Paula Kluth, Ph.D.
Workshop Description:
Participants will learn practical ways of supporting students with autism
spectrum labels & other disabilities within a general education classroom.
Topics addressed include defining autism, listening to the voices of those
with autism, differentiating instruction in the diverse classroom, encouraging
literacy development, making the classroom comfortable for all learners, and
supporting behaviors and bodies of students with a range of needs. This
